Pediatric Aquatic Therapy
in Boise, ID

Is your child struggling with movement, balance, or strength? Does stiffness or pain make it harder for them to participate in daily activities or play? In a gravity-reduced setting, children can move more freely and build strength, coordination, and balance that complement the skills they’re developing during land therapy.

At Kaleidoscope Pediatric Therapy, we’re proud to offer aquatic therapy services to give kids the freedom to practice their skills in a safe and fun setting. Whether your child is recovering from an injury or working to improve their mobility, aquatic therapy can help them gain confidence and achieve lasting progress.

What Is Aquatic Therapy?

Aquatic therapy is physical therapy that takes place in a thermoregulated heated pool instead of the clinic gym. The warm water relaxes your child’s muscles and reduces pressure on their joints, which makes it easier for them to stretch, strengthen, and move.

The natural resistance and buoyancy of water create a safe, supportive environment where your child can practice key movement skills like walking, balancing, and coordination—all while having fun!

Who Can Benefit from Aquatic Therapy?

Aquatic therapy can support many children with different needs. Some of the conditions we commonly see include:

  • Spina bifida
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Low muscle tone
  • Orthopedic injuries (sprains, fractures, post-surgery recovery)
  • Children with muscle weakness or limited mobility
  • Kids who need extra support for walking, balance, or coordination

Our Approach to Aquatic Therapy

At Kaleidoscope Pediatric Therapy, safety and family support are always our top priorities. Our aquatic sessions are:

  • 1:1 Therapist to child sessions for added safety and individualized approach.
  • Equipped for accessibility: A mechanical lift is available for children who cannot walk into the pool.
  • Family-friendly: Parents can watch from a comfortable viewing area and stay involved in your child’s progress.
  • Convenient: Our pool is located just a mile from our clinic, which makes it easy for families to attend.
